The Operator was notified on 04/16/2026 that the employee has been diagnosed with Occupational Pneumoconiosis.
EE was removing drill steel from a drilled hole. Pusher and extension separated in hole. Pusher stayed in drill chuck, extension stayed in roof. Extension fell out mashing left pinky finger between pusher and extension causing a tuft fracture to the end of the left pinky finger.
Approximately 1:10am, a roof fall occurred on the #1 Section in #8 entry at 12cc 1cc inby spad #4379 trapping 2 Mobile Roof Supports (MRS's) in the fallen material. There were no personal injuries.
The Operator was notified on 1/14/2026 that the employee has been diagnosed with Occupational Pneumoconiosis.
The Operator was notified on 11/18/2025 that the employee has been diagnosed with Occupational Pneumoconiosis.
EE was leveling EE's drill pot and EE's left middle and ring fingers were mashed between the adjustment rods and a nut on the inside of the drill boom causing a laceration requiring 2 stitches to the ring finger and tuft fractures to each finger tip.
While EE was removing the inner cap to change a conveyor torque shaft, oil, under pressure, came out of the conveyor pot and covered EE's arms, hands and a few places on EE's face. This caused burns and blistering.
Employee was assisting in laying a 12' timber on a Scoop to cut for setting. EE's left middle finger was mashed between the Scoop and timber causing a laceration that took 3 stitches to close and a slight fracture at the end of the finger.
EE was assisting in placing a piece of takeup in line for a new setup Another employee raised one side of the takeup portion with a bar in order to place a 6" beam under the takeup foot As the injured EE was placing the beam under the takeup foot the bar slipped and caught EE's right thumb between the takeup foot and the beam causing a laceration and a fracture to the thumb.
IE was changing traction motor on SC. New motor didn't come with new pinion gear. Removing old gear with hammer and chisel, a piece of metal flew off something (where metal came from is unknown)and lodged in the meaty part of left thumb. metal was surgically removed on 5/6 but the number of sutures are unknown. We will update when we have that information.
The Operator was notified on 4/14/2025 that the employee has been diagnosed with Occupational Pneumoconiosis.
An unintentional roof fall was discovered in the track entry (secondary escapeway) at #8 crosscut #6 belt on #2 Section.
Employee was assisting in hanging miner cable and water line when EE felt a sharp pain in their right shoulder.
Employee was installing the last row of bolts in the face of #3 entry when a rock fell from the top between the rib and the outside bolt. EE was struck on the outside of the right ankle. EE was on their knees while bolting. The equipment and tools that EE was using were in good condition.
As a result of medical examinations, this miner has been diagnosed with a sufficient degree of pneumoconiosis.
Employee was roof bolting on #2 Section in #6 entry inby spad #2271 when a piece of roof rock fell out and struck EE on top of the right forearm causing a 1" laceration that required 6 sutures to close. The rock measured 12"L x 10"W x 3"T.
Employee was at the inch controls, tramming the machine when a rib roll struck employee in the legs. Employee was diagnosed with a non-displaced fracture of the right fibula.
Employee was assisting in laying track rail going to #1 section. The end of a track rail was in the Scoop bucket. The rail fell out and struck EE on top of EE's left foot causing hairline fractures to the metatarsal bones behind the big toe and the one closest to it. EE returned on the next regularly scheduled shift doing regular job with no restrictions from the Doctor.
While operating the continuous miner in the No. 1 Heading, the equipment operator was handling the trailing cable and slipped, spraining the left knee.
Miner was diagnosed with pneumoconiosis. Operator received notice on October 10,2023.
While changing scoop batteries, a piece of rib rock measuring 47 inches x 13 inches x 6 inches fell on miner's right leg.
Employee was diagnosed with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. Safety was notified of the diagnosis on 10/18/2023.
Employee was on surface loading rock dust into a track mounted dusting machine. While disconnecting the discharge hose from the machine, the connector struck EE in the face/nose area. Received two (2) stitches.
Employee was moving a 6 inch I beam by hand and experienced pain in the right arm which resulted in a torn bicep. Employee was not scheduled to work on this mine ID beyond 8/1/2022.
As the drill operator was dismounting from the drill, a foot became stuck on a ladder rung. When the operator freed their foot, they fell to the ground. The incident resulted in a fractured fibula.
