EE was checking AC on Grader when EE reached to grab handrail and missed and fell off machine landing on left side injuring left elbow. EE continued to work until 08/25/19 where EE visited ER and was dx. with fx. of left elbow and referred to specialist on 08/30/19 where a full arm cast was applied to left arm.

Operating CAT D10R dozer, pushing a big rock out of pit. Using corner of blade to spin the rock out to get behind it. Blade slipped off rock and slammed right shoulder into back of operator's seat.

Operator states that he was dumping a load of rock when the truck bed came down and jarred his tailbone. X-rays revealed no broken bones. Bruised tailbone.

Operator was working a D-11 dozer near the highwall when a rock fell from the highwall and came through window in the cab door striking him on the left ankle. He was transported to the hospital where a splint was applied - bruising & swelling, nothing broken.

A 789 rock truck steering hose ruptured and sprayed oil onto the engine. The oil caught fire and the truck operator and another operator inhaled fire extinguisher chemicals while helping to extinguish the fire. The chemicals irritated the lungs and eyes.

Employee was operating an excavator; he swung the machine to the right and struck a rock. The machine came to a sudden stop. The operator then complained of neck strain and headache.

Victim was assisting with pulling the cars out of the hole that was finished. He go his right foot caught between the push assembly and one of the cars. Foot was bruised & swollen on top. Missed two days work.

Employee had filled the hydraulic tank on the dozer and was dismounting when he slipped and fell. His right foot was caught behind the pusharm and he fell backwards to the ground twisting his right knee. Either strained knee or possibly torn ligament. Still awaiting evaluation of xrays/scans by medical personnel.

Employee was going into the parts trailer, slipped and fell off the steps to the ground. Initial medical result was broken upper fibula and strained ankle. He went to his family doctor on 11/1 and futher exams showed a broken right ankle with some misalignment of the pieces of bone. Surgery to put screws in these pieces was done on 11/3. First lost work day was on 11/1.

EE was climbing down from a loader after finishing with servicing. He slipped on the bottom step and twisted his ankle. Diagnosed with a cracked bone in ankle.

Victim was climbing onto the generator when he slipped and caught himself with his hand on the floor. Complained of pain in left thumb but continued working. After his shift ended he went to the Emergency Room and an x-ray revealed a fractured thumb.

When finishing with maintenance/repair on water truck, victim's hand slipped on grab rail and he fell to the ground. No substantial injuries, just stove up and sore.

Operator was using loader to clean coal in the pit. The bucket on the loader rolled down and caught hard section of rock causing the loader to jerk to a stop. Pulled muscle in his neck.

EE WAS OPERATING 785 ROCK TRUCK & THE SEAT BROKE CAUSING LOW BACK PAIN. HE WORKED UNTIL 2/11/02 & WENT TO THE DOCTOR. ON 2/14/02 WHEN RETURNING ON HIS NEXT SCHEDULED SHIFT HE BEGAN WORKING RES TRICTED DUTY (EE WORKS A 4 ON, 2 OFF SCHEDULE). HE IS CURRENTLY WORKING BUT IS ON RESTRICTED DUTY WHILE GETTING THERAPY TREATMENTS.

EMPLOYEE WAS DRIVING HIS PERSONAL VEHICLE TO WORK UP HAUL ROAD. VEHICLE OVERHEATED, HE PARKED VEHICLE, RODE TO JOB WITH ANOTHER EMPLOYEE. WHEN HE CAME BACK, VEHICLE WAS ENGULFED IN FLAMES. THE EMPLOYEE DID NOT HAVE ANY INJURIES, BUT THE VEHICLE WAS A TOTAL LOSS. MGMT IS REPORTING THIS DUE TO THE FIRE OCCURRING ON THE HAUL ROAD. THIS WAS REPORTED BY PHONE TO MT CARBON 7/20/01.
