Operator cleaning out discharge chute on rotary drier when operator stumbled and right arm went into wheelbarrow of hot material filling glove and burning rt. hand. First aid administered at plant, transported to ER and later admitted into hospital.

EE TOOK BELT GUARD OFF TO CHECK BELT TENSION WHILE RUNNING. AFTER VISUAL INSPECTION, HE DECIDED TO SHUT DOWN AND TIGHTEN. AS HE WAS TURNING, HE LOST BALANCE AND HAND CAME IN CONTACT WITH BELT.
