Dolomite Group · Over-exertion in wielding or throwing objects

EE got out of the haul truck to move a rock from the roadway. The rock was estimated after the fact to be around 100 lbs. EE threw the stone and felt a pop causing pain in EE's right shoulder and hand. EE was placed in an immobilizing sling.

EE was going back to quarry loader to get loaded when EE went from normal route and hit a small ledge. EE suffered a back compression injury, imaging did not show bone damage but EE received prescription pain medication.

Employee used a hammer and a prybar to free a 10-12" rock wedged in between C2 chute and belt. Rock shattered, causing a large fragment of the rock to bounce and eject back towards the employee. Rock made contact with employee's forehead above right eye. All proper PPE was worn during the time of incident. Employee received 6 stitches and returned to work.

EE was using a port-a-power to separate the sides of the screen box in order to remove a screen deck for replacement. On the third move, EE was holding the tool and when pressure was released the tool jumped upward, crushing the EE's right thumb between the screen deck and the tool.

Employee was using a self-retracting razor knife to replace a sweep on the jaw crusher discharge belt. While cutting the sweep, employee was not wearing cutting gloves and overrode self-retracting action of knife. While cutting, left hand slipped under blade, cutting through regular glove and into left pinky finger - EE was taken to urgent care and received 4 stitches.
