Employee was scaling in a scaler when the cab lift cylinder bolt sheered off causing the cab to drop suddenly jarring employee in the cab. It fell approximately 13 inches where it hit a cab bumper block. The employee claimed to have a sore back and neck. The supervisor took the employee to the clinic and was diagnosed with a strained lower back and neck with restrictions.

NON-WORK RELATED INCIDENT. 2 employees decided to come to work a half hour early to swap a personal television in the employee parking lot before work started. The injured EE attempted to pick up the TV and set it back down in the fellow EE's personal vehicle, the TV landed on his right middle finger causing a laceration. The EE received 7 stitches and released without restriction.

The employee was attempting to remove a shanked drill steel from the face by standing on the tool box in the back of his pickup. When the employee stepped down from the tool box he stepped onto a wheel chock fracturing his ankle.

Working area had a small hump in floor. Employee was in the process tying in the explosive round when he picked up the detonation cord from the rear of the explosives vehicle. He turned to his right to walk back to the face. A small hump in the floor caused employee to roll his right ankle causing the fracture to his right tibula and fibula.

Employee removed a pump motor from the housing to determine the reason for no pressure. When pump was plugged in the impeller broke and a section struck him. The injury required 5 stitches in his lip.

The mine had recently changed resin suppliers and new boxes are fully glued. The miner used a razor knife to open the end of the resin box. The miner steadied the box with his left hand while cutting toward it with the knife in his right hand. The blade exited the cardboard and cut the left hand. The miner was taken to a medical facility and received stitches.

Employee was assisting a vendor in lowering an equipment part out of the back of a truck at the surface maintenance shop when he heard a tearing sound. When he looked down at his arm he saw that the bicep muscle was out of place. Diagnosed as a ruptured biceps tendon and placed on restricted duty 07/24/07.
