Employee strained his lower back / pulled a muscle when stepped off of a crusher platform. The platform is 12 - 14 inches higher than the surrounding ground level.

Crane operator was inspecting the winch (drum) on the crane. After inspecting the winch, the operator was climbing back to the cab of the crane when he slipped and fell approx. 8' to the ground below. Operator sustained laceration to his head and a fracture to his hip and wrist.
