The employee became overheated while replacing load cells for a scale inside of a building. The ambient temperature was well over 100 degrees where the employee was working. The employee was short of breath and their arms were tingling.

Employee was hanging bulk bags when experienced pain in right arm. First aid was administered and employee finished shift. Employee was still experiencing pain days later and was sent to see Doctor. Placed on restricted duty and given medication for tenosynovitis.

The elevator an EE was using malfunctioned and stopped approximately 6 ft from the ground level. The EE was stranded in the elevator for approximately 2 hrs. after which, they decided to attempt to exit. As the EE exited the elevator, they fell to the grating on the ground level, an approximate 6 ft fall, striking their side and back. The EE fractured 2 ribs.

A Lab Technician experienced a skin injury when EE spilled Nitric acid from a test tube while performing standard lab test under a lab hood. The spilled liquid contacted EE's neck and arm creating small first degree chemical burns on skin. The Doctor prescribed antibiotics and prescription burn cream. The employee returned without restrictions the same day.

Mechanic was using 2 lb hammer to drive pin into valve while performing maintenance activities. As the hammer struck the pin, the employees 5th finger (pinky) struck metal valve mashing finger between hammer handle and valve. The employee received 7 stitches in 5th finger. Restricted duty only, no lost days.

Injured employee was helping to demolish and old fence when a piece of angle iron fell striking employee on the upper right arm. The arm was not broken but there was a soft tissue injury. The employee has returned to work on restricted duty as of 10/28/2016.

Mechanic was exiting a dryer control room. The mechanic placed his left hand on the door to control the door. Fifth finger (pinky) was pinched between door and frame causing laceration above finger nail bed. Employee received stitches and prescription for antibiotics and pain. Returned to work with restricted duty.

MidGA - Gordon. A Gordon employee received an injury when opening the #7 filter vacuum pump valve. The handle broke lacerating his left index finger through leather work gloves worn as proper PPE for the task. The employee was transported to the Medical Center in Macon where he was treated and received four stitches along with a prescription for antibiotics.

A Translink operator was pulling a filled 50lb bag from the packer spout to place on the conveying system when he lost his grip on the bag. In an attempt to prevent the bag from hitting the floor, the operator tried to regain control of the bag and felt a pain in his lower back. Late reporting of injury due to causation investigation. Injury cause was determined on 11/01/10.

Mechanic opened the right side of a double door to the atomizer feed pump pit and stepped inside. Several seconds later a short section of purlin with attached metal siding broke loose and fell striking the employee in the back of his hard hat and upper right back. This caused the employee to move forward at which time his right lower leg came in contact with a platform.

Mechanic was performing maintenance work on a bauer mill. A bolt was stuck in the bottom and when he tried to clear it, the rotator assembly moved and piched the distal end of his left little finger between the assembly and the bauer wall. Employee sustained a laceration to the distal end of his left pinky finger.

After an unsuccessful attempt at removing the blade, the mechanic lost his balance causing his left hand to come intact with the blade. He sustained a laceration across the palm of his left hand.

EE alleges cumulative trauma to his right ring, middle, index and thumb as a result of performing the essential functions of his job which includes manually removing 50 lb bags of kaolin from a spout and placing them onto a conveyor belt. States the onset of his finger complaints was approximately 2 weeks prior to reporting date. Date of doctor visit was 11/1/06.

The employee was returning to his golf cart from the #4 Bulk Loading area when he slipped and fell. Apparently, in an attempt to brace or recover from the slip, the employee broke his right ankle. The area where the fall occurred is an incline surface. There was wet kaolin in the area where the fall took place.
