Cold Spring Granite Company · Struck by falling object

Employee was on top of granite block, EE was drilling block to split in 1/2. When the block split, it shifted and EE dropped to EE's knees. EE's left shin hit the edge of the block causing abrasion to left shin. EE was released to work, modified duty- should be sitting 50% of time, no squatting, no climbing ladders. Employee returned to work 5/7/24.

Employee was starting to drill hole in the granite, was looking to see how it was started, and something flew in EE's right eye. EE went to clinic later as eye continued to be irritated, they sent EE to ER. The ER doctor said not an emergency, prescribed eyedrops. Employee returned to work, no restrictions, no lost time, no lost wages.

Employee was pulling a hydro bag out of its storage rack. Employee's left hand lost grip and slid across the far edge of the hydro bag, causing laceration on lower left wrist. Approximately 15 stitches were applied. Is referred to hand surgeon due to tendon damage. Lost time injury.

Employee was climbing up into Grove Crane, hit top of knee on bottom of cab. Employee thought it would be fine. Over weekend had issues with it, went to ER on Sunday and reported injury to employer today, 7-25-16. No work until 7-28-16. Lost time injury for right knee contusion.

Employee was hooking up remote start to turn over motor on Ford tractor. Had finger on timing gear, motor turned over and smashed fingertip; leading to amputation of partial fingertip. EE lost one day of work, returned to work 5-9-16, taken off work again on 5-31-16, returned to work 7-12-16 modified duty. Lost time injury.

THE PORTABLE DRILL IS HEAVY AND EMPLOYEE MOVED IT BY PICKING IT UP HIMSELF. SINCE IT IS SO HEAVY IT SHOULD BE MOVED WITH THE CRANE IN ORDER TO KEEP A WORKER FROM STRAINING HIMSELF.
